LIONS PROGRAM
Our Learning
At Lions, learning is built around rich, integrated units of study.
Each term, we create a new unit from scratch, shaped by student interests, group needs and meaningful curriculum connections. Rather than teaching subjects in isolated boxes, we bring learning together through big ideas, real questions and purposeful projects.
Our units may include English, mathematics, science, humanities, PDHPE, creative arts, music, food technology, research and design, depending on the focus of the term.
Integrated Units of Study
Every term at Lions looks a little different.
One term may have a strong creative focus. Another may lean more into science, history, wellbeing, technology or real-world skills. The subjects we include depend on the unit and what will create the richest learning experience for students.
This term, our unit is Worlds Within.
Students are exploring worldbuilding through:
English
reading, writing, character, setting and storytelling
History
power, belief systems, social structures and change
Mathematics
mapping, design, scale, geometry and problem-solving
Music
sound, rhythm and cultural expression
Food Technology
food as culture, identity, environment and tradition
Next term, the unit will be different, because our learning responds to the students in front of us.

Why We Learn This Way
Children learn deeply when learning feels connected and meaningful.
At Lions, students do not just complete isolated tasks. They explore ideas across subjects, make connections, ask questions and apply their learning in creative and practical ways.
This helps students see that learning is not separate from life. It is part of how we understand the world, solve problems, express ideas and build confidence.
Curriculum With Purpose
Our units are creative, but they are carefully planned.
Behind every unit is intentional teaching, curriculum mapping and skill development across key learning areas. Students build literacy, numeracy, research, communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking skills within a meaningful context.
At Lions, integrated learning is not an extra.
It is how we make learning matter.
